Velocity Clinical Research Expands Clinical Trial Capabilities Through Organic Growth

Durham, N.C. – May 23, 2019 – Velocity Clinical Research, in line with its planned strategy to grow organically as well as by acquisition, has christened a new site in Grant’s Pass, OR. With experienced Medical Director Kevin Parks, MD, at the helm, Grant’s Pass increases Velocity’s geographic footprint in Oregon and adds a new, state-of-the-art clinical research site to Velocity’s expanding portfolio.

From Dr. Paul Evans, Velocity’s CEO: “We have said from the beginning that we intend to build Velocity Clinical by combining acquisitions with organic growth. Acquisitions allow us to move into new markets and increase capacity quickly, while organic growth lets us take advantage of our already considerable expertise and expand into underserved areas. These sites open day one with experienced clinical research staff and active relationships with sponsors and CROs.”

Dr. Parks comes to the  Grant’s Pass location from Velocity’s existing site in Medford, Oregon, Clinical Research Institute of Southern Oregon (CRISOR). He received his medical degree from the University of California at San Diego in 2001 and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Parks received his fellowship training in allergy and immunology at Creighton University. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and has conducted more than 400 clinical trials since 2006. Dr. Parks commented “I am delighted to be taking the medical lead on the first expansion site for Velocity Clinical. The Medford site has been a huge success and I’m confident Grant’s Pass will build on that.”

Dr. Evans: “Kevin Parks is a first-class researcher in his own right and hugely experienced by any standard.  He has worked extensively with Dr. Edward Kerwin, founder and Medical Director of CRISOR, who is one of the best. Together these two sites bring needed health services to southern Oregon and give sponsors easy access to high-enrolling, high-quality study sites with excellent patient care.”
