Hope Research Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, part of the “Valley of the Sun” region was selected by Moderna for its Phase 3 pivotal trial investigating the efficacy of mRNA-1273 as a COVID-19 vaccine. With a Phase 1 trial establishing safety, a successful Phase 3 would equate to an actual vaccine for COVID-19. Arizona emerged as a global hotspot for the virus while Hispanics have been “hammered” by the pathogen.
Recently, the local West Valley View reported that this local clinical investigative site was selected for the pivotal Phase 3 COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial sponsored by Moderna. Tom Scanlon, a local journalist, attempted to engage with the site but they haven’t responded as of yet.
