Helen Ross McNabb Centers, The University of Tennessee Medical Center and the United Health Foundation have inked a partnership to expand access to care providers and behavioral health services throughout East Tennessee.
Highlights:
- $1 million grant partnership will expand the number of care providers to engage more than 250 patients with substance use disorder annually
- Funding will expand the University of Tennessee Medical Center Emergency Room Substance Misuse Harm Reduction and Engagement Program
- Tennessee is ranked 38th in drug-related deaths according to America’s Health Rankings
Clinical research sponsors involved with substance use disorder investigational treatments should be mindful of such a growing number of partnerships. A growing emphasis is being placed on “whole person care” initiatives where care coordination reaches out of the health system and into the community.
