University of Auckland, Local Hospital Funded to Extend Research Into Rural Kiwi Communities

Cancer specialists and researchers at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland and Te Toka Tumai, Auckland City Hospital organize and prepare for a clinical trial that helps rural and regional cancer patients benefit from participation.  The New Zealand clinical trial secured funding from the Health Research Center. Leading the study: Dr Michelle Wilson and Dr Nicky Lawrence. The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC) announced funding for this study as part of its 2024 Project and Programme funding round.

The University of Auckland offers a promising upbeat update on a grant and the effort to embrace decentralized clinical trials to extend clinical trials, and the potential cutting edge medicines involved, to rural Kiwi residents.
