Thailand Discontinues COVID-19 Policies & Excess Mortality Increases Among Children

In a recent study published in BMC Public Health, lead author Phanthila Sitthikarnkha and Rattapon Uppala both from Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Thailand and colleagues examined the impact of COVID-19 policy discontinuation on child mortality rates in Thailand. The research hypothesized that the cessation of COVID-19 surveillance measures might lead to an increase in excess mortality among children.
