Could COVID-19 vaccination reduce the symptoms involved with long COVID, or post-COVID conditions (PCC) from stomach pain to weakness and fatigue? This is the case according to the outcomes of a recent study led by a team at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. With results published last week in the Journal of Investigative Medicine, the observational study revealed that participants receiving a COVID-19 vaccine prior to infection (SARS-CoV-2) as well as requesting care for PCC at the integrated health system overall report less problems with PCC than otherwise. Reduced symptoms across a number of conditions include pain, anosmia, parosmia, chest pain and tightness, numbness and tingling, dizziness, dyspnea and more.
