New research from the apex research institute in India, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), finds COVID-19 vaccination is not associated with sudden unexampled deaths among young adults over the past couple years. The ICMR conducted a multi-site study investigating factors involved with 729 sudden deaths from across the world’s most populous country from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2023. The team of India-based investigators report worldwide sudden death incidence among young adults was estimated at 0.8-6.2 per 100,000 per annum. The study was published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research and included participation of 47 tertiary care hospitals across the nation. TrialSite reminds that the nation of India rejected the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine because the national health leadership refused to grant universal waiver of liability.

Importantly, the apex research institute of India does find that potentially hospitalization linked to COVID-19, family history involving sudden death, and social determinants of health (select lifestyle elements may be factors.
