Lanzhou University First Hospital Researchers’ Systematic Review Suggests mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines May Elevate Risk of Lymphoma

Do COVID-19 vaccines associate with any lymphoma risk? This is a question asked by researchers Zhentao Cui and Juan Cheng, both with Lanzhou University First Hospital in the capital city of northwest China's Gansu province systematically analyzed whether COVID-19 vaccination increases the risk of this type of blood cancer that affects the immune system by causing white blood cells called lymphocytes to develop abnormally and multiply out of control.&nbsp;Also known as lymphatic cancer, the two researchers tapped into and searched five databases (PubMed, BMJ, Web of Science, Cochrane Library and the CDC) screening articles and references for superior retrieval precision.&nbsp; Once extracting, organizing and analyzing the pair report that &ldquo;the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine may potentially elevate the associated risk of lymphoma incidence.&rdquo;
The study, yet to be peer-reviewed, was funded via a study on the correlation between vaccine administration and the incidence risk of hematological disorders that are subject to close monitoring plus a Scientific research project of Gansu Provincial Drug Administration.
