AN Venture Partners raises $200M to build biotechs leveraging research from Japan

San Francisco and Tokyo-based AN Venture Partners,  a new investment firm affiliated with ARCH Venture Partners has raised $200 million for its first fund to support its mission of backing scientific research out of Japan to create new global biotech startups. AN Venture Partners&rsquo; financing was disclosed in a SEC  filing.
AN Venture Partners (ANV) was formed by a group of experienced venture capitalists from Japan and the United States, with various backgrounds in founding and growing start-ups, in addition to having an agreed alliance with ARCH Venture Partners.  ARCH is one of the biggest players in the life sciences investment arena, having funded multiple blue-chip names in biotech, diagnostics and other technologies.
