Different adverse events may occur following COVID-19 vaccination, one of which is minimal change disease. This article will summarize two case reports of minimal change disease, a kidney disorder, after COVID-19 vaccine administration. These case reports were collected by React19, a science-based non-profit organization that supports vaccine-injured individuals, also, a TrialSite partner. TrialSite previously covered a study on renal disorder prevalence post-COVID-19 vaccination and VAERS-reported occurrences.

Minimal change disease (MCD) is a kidney disorder characterized by damage to the glomeruli, the kidney’s filtering units. The glomeruli appear normal under a normal microscope and only a very powerful microscope can detect the problem. That's why it is referred to as “minimal change disease.” MCD may lead to nephrotic syndrome, a kidney disorder causing excessive protein in urine and fluid retention, especially in children.
