David E. Scheim was awarded a PhD in mathematics from M.I.T., followed by a postdoc in mathematical biology at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. He then served for 20 years as a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service stationed at the National Institutes of Health. Since 2020, Dr. Scheim has focused his research efforts on glycan bindings of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and possibilities for competitive inhibition of those bindings using pharmacological agents practical for widespread use, in particular, ivermectin. He has coauthored several published studies.
