Nordic Cochrane Centre Research Finds Commercial Sponsors’ Not Disclosing Influence

Recently reported in The BMJ, commercial sponsors are influencing trials’ analysis but may not always report on the full nature of their influence. A Danish group at the Nordic Cochrane Centre in Copenhagen undertook a comprehensive analysis of industry funding sources and the nature and extent of disclosure. They found, not surprisingly, that commercial sponsors are not always fully open about their ties to clinical programs.
