Lawsuit with Indian Supreme Court Seeks COVID-19 Vaccine Data Transparency

A physician critical of the COVID-19 vaccination program in India has filed an action with the Supreme Court of India in an effort to make public COVID-19 vaccination data associated with both clinical trials and post-vaccination figures, including adverse event reports. Filed by a Dr. Jacob Puliyel, formerly a member of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization, he also requested that the court declare any mandatory vaccinations as unconstitutional. Represented by well-known public interest attorney Prashant Bhushan, the case centers on mandating the Indian government to bring transparency to COVID-19-based clinical trial and real-world data now accumulating due to vaccine approval via the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) via the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI).
