There is a growing interest in Hidradenitis suppurativa in many news channels including Healio Dermatology as guidelines from the United States and Canadian Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundations seek to support physicians in the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of the condition and emphasize a more personalized and precise approach to the standard of care.

This can’t be good enough news that there is growing attention to this critically important topic. TrialSite News has a large group of readers that are either struggling with HS or have a loved one afflicted with this at times debilitating disorder. In addition to the guidelines, other stories include one TrialSite News covered centering on the prevalence of thyroid disorders in patients with HS.

Ali Alikhan, MD, co-chair of the report and dermatologist at Sutter Health in Sacramento, CA and colleagues declared “HS management is often complex and requires balancing medical and surgical treatment options in addition to addressing associated pain.”

The medical community around the world is starting to focus more on HS. They need to. It can be a devasting condition that has devastated the lifestyles of many people we know. We will continue to monitor progress—dig deeper into the research—and work diligently to help those in need.
