Very interesting information it looks like zinc knocks out a lot of good gut bacteria. I just take 12mg per day when I’m not expecting a virus. 50mg zinc is a temporary high dose to fight a virus. Kaiser treated my c diff with flagyl an antibiotic that works half the time. Mine was precipitated by taking one of the mycin antibiotics for an ear infection which is known for allowing c diff to outcompete. fecal transplants are well over 90% effective in very worthwhile to get rid of c diff. It’s done medically, so they actually purify the poop down to just the bacteria so it’s kind of a clearish yellow liquid. They charge a lot for it partly because they have to do all the purification without any air to avoid killing the anaerobic bacteria. I’m glad the mycin antibiotic was able to reveal that c diff because I was going in for a prostatectomy and the surgeon said it’s good to be tested for that beforehand to prevent a deadly infection, but I hadn’t been tested until symptoms got obvious. They tested me three times to make sure I was over it before my surgery.
