“Upon the discovery of the new strain, British […] placed six African nations (South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Eswatini) on its Red List, barring travel to and from the countries…”

What can IVM and other prophylaxis therapeutics do to Omicron variant?

The initial report coming out of South Africa from Dr. Angelique Coetzee indicated a milder strain in healthy patients. The symptoms have less coughing, but more muscle soreness and fatigue. We should know more in two weeks.

I mostly see this as a threat to the vaccine industry. Wide-spread of a milder strain would reduce vaccine uptake. The official government bodies are trying to stop Omicron and keep other more severe strains in circulation longer.

<div>I would venture to predict that IVM users will have no problem stopping this variant. IVM doesn’t rely on immune system antibodies to do the job as any developed mRNA injection might. Now is the opportunity for the fear hype to go away – with Ziverdo kit distribution in the United States beginning now, we could kill Omicron in its beginning spread, and kill the Delta variant too. 🙂

I checked the Ziverdo website, and their shipments come from India. Wouldn’t they be confiscated by Customs if the shipper has to declare what’s in the package, since it includes IVM?

I’ve read the affects of Omicron variant are milder than for Delta. If as virologists hypothesise, the newer strains of Covid overtake the older ones eg Delta has now overtaken the original, then will this new, apparently milder one overtake the Delta? Could this mean that the Covid virus is becoming less dangerous to humans even if more contagious?

    Preventative

Repurposed as a One Health approach, Duramectin IVM applied in nasal passages is topical treatment. The other ~88% proprietary ingredients wouldn’t be ingested, and the human’s mucosal immune system is given a layer of defense beyond the absorption through the digestive tract and vascular system. IVM is absorbed at the location initial defense is best appreciated. Stronger defenses against Omicron are already here in this formulation of ivermectin.

    One Health

    https://www.cdc.gov/onehealth/basics/history/index.html

Although the term “One Health” is fairly new, the concept has long been recognized both nationally and globally. Since the 1800s, scientists have noted the similarity in disease processes among animals and humans, but human and animal medicine were practiced separately until the 20th century. In recent years, through the support of key individuals and vital events, the One Health concept has gained more recognition in the public health and animal health communities

The nasal-membrane application of IVM is a novel idea that I wholeheartedly support. I am eager to see how effective it is.

        @TheLastCaucasian

I transitioned from oral to nasal and am pioneering the One Medicine concept in COVID-19 applications. You can study my wife and me as this is my discovery, as far as I know, independently of
others. When we go out to, and come back from, large gatherings of people, or to indoor public places, or have up close guests for company, we use this nasal gel coating procedure.

The major inert ingredient in most animal IVM formulations (non-combination products) is propylene glycol which is used primarily as a thickener.

One would be hard pressed to go a full day without ingesting it since it is used in such a variety of products.

          https://www.leaf.tv/articles/foods-drinks-with-propylene-glycol/

It would seem to me that, with a 12-to-36-hour half-life, oral IVM would be more effective as a prophylactic treatment.

How might a make a nasal spray using the Ivm tablets I have? Just mix with saline?

IVM is NOT water-soluble. Saline would NOT dissolve and carry IVM even though the tablet might disintegrate..

    Day 0 – Undetermined…

Day 1 – Where did I get Omicron?

I used a Binax Covid-19 antigen test tonight, testing positive.

Thermometer reads fever at 100.6° F., +/- 0.7° over several measurements over 10 hours.
My lung capacity measured aspiration using a Volodyne is 5,000 mL vol.
I have a tickle in throat cough that is controllable by body position and quiet.
    I have experienced mild diarrhea.

One thing learned – ivermectin is not sterilizing and so viruses can still infect.

One other thing learned – lingusticum porteri (osha root, bear root) soothes the throat and makes cough suppression easier.

I am not taking fever reducing drugs.

    Day 2

I have, as I did yesterday, full breathing capacity. I tested my inspired volume just now and can inhale so well that the marker in the cylinder of the Volodyne 5000 hits the top limit. No wheezing and no lung expectoration. I have a normal (for me) generous amount of clear mucus in nostrils. Fever is at 100° F. I don’t feel stifled by elevated temperature, although I am staying isolated in a room, so I am limiting myself that way.

I wear a mask when my wife is near. Cough and tickle in throat is manifesting less, when I eat or swallow, but even then, infrequent. My senses of taste and smell are very acute, no loss there. No headache. Muscles and joints feel slightly “pleasantly” achy, like during a long afternoon nap by a sunny window when the snow and cold outside are distant.

I am taking D3, C, Nettle-quercetin, Alpha lipoic acid, NAC, glutathione, B12, melatonin, and ivermectin, and lingusticum porteri. No pain drugs, no antihistamines, no shots.

Also Povidone diluted for nasal and mouth rinse a few times a day and Listerine Cool Mint.
I wash frequently, showering twice daily.

    Diarrhea continues…

    Day 3
In the morning there are diminishing levels of the mild symptoms.

    The diarrhea is over.

Fever persists at 99.6° F. Treatment today was Alpha lipoic acid, NAC, glutathione, nettle-quercetin, zinc and lingusticum porteri tea with clove buds and cinnamon bark.
Breathing test with Volodyne 5000 results: 5000 mL inspired volume attained

Day 4. No fever, temperature 98.4° F. Activity this morning: I was up on the roof shovelling and push-brooming snow off the solar panels. Today I take NAC, Alpha lipoic acid, Nettle-quercetin, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Zinc, blueberries, ginger, cinnamon bark, garlic oil and peppermint, along with the nasal/throat rinse of diluted povidone iodine. My lungs capacity with the Volodyne 5000 inspired volume apparatus was 5,000+ (the top capacity) mL volume.

My wife is still doing well. Her Binax NOW antigen test came back technically positive with faint lines on the register. Her fever was 100.0° F. yesterday, 99.1° F. now. I have her covered for safety. No shots. She is almost symptom free, had a slight headache yesterday and imtermittent coughing. She is performing well this morning, cooking and staying busy on her feet.

After cross-country skiing just now along a level wooded canal road out and back about <1 mi the assessment is that Omicron (if that’s what I contacted) did not attack my respiratory system or the ivermectin-centric treatment worked. I have a slight fever of 99.1° F. after the skiing workout.

    Today Day 6

I actually lost some of my taste and smell acuity. I can taste sour, sweet, bitter, and salty…as though they were muted, but not ”umami”, which is ”savory”. It’s as though the creamy, meat-juicy , oily chicken broth, cheesy pasta, milk chocolate function dial was turned way down.

I can taste and smell peppermint oil very well, though, and it makes for a pleasant experience that clears my bronchi and soothes my soft palate and uvula area, where there is inflammation. Fever is 99° F. now, was gone earlier this morning (at 98.3° F.). No diminishing of lung function. Slight, intermittent, controllable (usually) cough. Some sticky expectorant mucus after waking this morning, but all day clear nostrils, no head congestion.

Day 10 still taking supplements but less frequent. Took some more ivermectin. Taste and smell returned, cough still intermittently present, slight fever comes and goes.

I am planning on isolating on an elk hunting trip for up to 5 days, limited company.

Wife had one day of upset stomach but good today. Her temperature varies too. Still taking supplements and IVM and iodine saline nasal and throat rinses.

    Day 14 Now it’s January 16.

What day is this since this virus had its first contact with my wife and me? We don’t know. All speculation about the beginning.

Here I’m using Jan. 3 as a time reference, for ’Day 1’ (is it or is it not?)

Today ’Day 14’, Sunday January 16

My wife has been definitely convinced all this last week, of the seriousness of what has captured her. It scares her, but she is hanging on to the hope that she’ll live…without panicking and going out to get a vaccination, as though doing so might just still be a wronger choice.

We have been apart from Tuesday morning to Friday late afternoon, so we each have non-transferred symptoms over this period.

    But they are the same.

She has a cough. I have a cough. Not most of the time, but when it happens, it is a nasopharnyx-shaking

Yesterday she still had a fever of up to 100° F., I had a variable temperature from 98.8 to 99.3° F.

This morning hers is 98.7° and mine 98.2° F.

Since last Tuesday until I returned Friday (with a cow elk), my wife has psychologically lost much of her mettle.

She said her lungs are congested (they are not, but her nasopharnyx and bronchi have to contend with mucus and inflammation), that she has no motivation and feels weak and tired (clutter has taken over in the house), that her appetite and interest in food diminished (very few meals finished), and that she has concerns (she called a hospital while I was gone about getting monoclonal antibodies and someone else about nebulizers, about discussing symptoms and about how she hated being sick).

Big change from week 1 for her.

With all her underlying conditions and her fragile sense of her own life force, I have a responsibility to do this right.

Yesterday I added some things to her therapeutics regimen (Xylear, electrolytes, turmeric, and others) and are doing less of others, such as less conflict and burden-carrying (including less concern about how the house looks).

Today I hope to give her some other cytokine and inflammation reducing compounds

So two weeks and ”Omicron” is transformed into a lingering immune response that can’t quite match the supposed protection of MABs or vaccination number 3 or 4.

The natural way is gradual, gentle (the fever works to build a better defense) yet threatening (overinflammation) and oftentimes it seems that we risk ourselves…yet we are enduring the virus and hope to beat the statistical stigma laid upon the 65-74 year old range.

    Day 15

No fever anymore, variable or low grade, finally. The cough and sinus drainage are the lingering symptoms.

Day 16 Good enough to take wife out to dinner for her birthday. We went early to avoid crowds. Taste buds are working – yum! Ivermectin still taken – last day.

Day 18 Using the nigella sativa black seed oil, NAC, alpha lipoic acid, povidone iodine saline rinse, hawaiian astaxanthin with ALA, GLA, and DHA algal oil

Day 19 Friday astaxanthin, povidone iodine saline rinse, Vitamin K2, copper citrate, alpha lipoic acid NAC, Myco Shield ( five mushrooms mycellum extract with cinnamon), hawaiian astaxanthin (with ALA, GLA, and DHA algal oil) and fresh ginger root.

Both of us are sleeping soundly. We have gone back to normal public life – basically.

I still have the nasopharnyx tickle cough, wife less so. We have the coughs in spells.

The thorough povidone iodine saline routine helps this. I also used some nano silver solution in throat and nasally. Elk meat too.

Was that Omicron? Omicron vs. Ivermectin…

My success story, and my wife’s.
