CNBC reported that mega-drug store chain CVS Health reported today that is preparing to hire 10,000 full-time and part-time licensed pharmacy technicians to support a forthcoming major undertaking to administer COVID-19 tests based on predictions that another wave of the coronavirus will sweep through America based on the cold fall and winter months ahead. Already CNBC reported that based on an analysis of Johns Hopkins University data, cases are on the rise, up by 5% or so on a weekly basis throughout at least 39 states by last Thursday. The U.S. experienced over 63,600 new cases of the coronavirus last Thursday alone as the seven-day average of new cases spiked over 13% from the week prior.
Potential Vaccine Administration Force
CNBC also reported that CVS can potentially leverage this large growth in its workforce to support the vaccine rollouts anticipated in the months ahead, especially into 2021.
