Clinical Research Coordinator Risking Star at Duke

Claudia Pamanes, with a flair for research, was nominated as “Blue Devil of the Week.” Employed with as a Research Scholar at the Duke Department of Neurosurgery, Claudia’s passion and love for research leads her to be the nexus of 9 Duke clinical trials at any one time.

From writing protocols, consent forms and questionnaires for a particular clinical trial to enrolling patients in studies to coordinating with Duke’s Institutional Review Board, the bilingual (Spanish and English) clinical trials professional epitomizes the successful, driven and committed research professional of today.

Claudia engages in a variety  of clinical research, from studies centering on new medications to prevent seizures in patients with brain tumors to studies involving patent engagement via text messaging post spine surgery.

A native of Monterrey, Mexico, she moved to the Research Triangle in January 2017—to pursue a Master of Pubic Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
